As a 32GB iPhone 3GS user I am getting the next iPhone come launch day. My #1 request is AT LEAST a 64GB iphone this time comparable to the iPad if not larger.

What are the chances of this happening?

I think there is a very good chance of seeing a 64GB iPhone however 128GB is pushing our luck a bit to far and to be honest and don't know how many people could fill 128GB?! I only just fill 16GB!!

maybe maybe maybe 64, but i don't think most consumers have THAT much music or need for 64GB and the price wouldn't look that appealing to consumers.

64GB I think there's a good chance, as for 128GB I doubt it. I think the iPad will get that before the iPhone.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

With the move to iCloud - I don't really see it coming.

I sure hope so. It would allow me to ditch my 32g iPod. I've got ~36g of music alone which I obviously have to trim down to fit on my ipod now (regretted not getting a 64 almost as soon as it arrived), so with apps, pictures, etc. There is 0 chance of fitting all I want on a 32 phone. If they don't I'll be stuck with a 16 phone and my 32 ipod :(

It's unlikely that storage will quadruple.

I'm hopeful for 64 gigs, though. Not everyone rips/obtains their music at 128 kbps.

I think that's the real answer. Apple can make the persuasive argument that there isn't the need for on-phone memory for music because of the cloud.

That not true because the music won't be streamed from the iCloud it has to be stored on the phone downloaded from iCloud

Yeah exactly so a higher capacity iPhone would still make sense. I think a 64GB iPhone will come this year, or at least I am hoping it does.

I'm really hoping for a 64gb iphone, but that would go into ipod touch and ipad territory. Along with the introduction of iCloud, it seems even more unlikely.:(

Who needs gigabit ethernet? Who needs 512 KB RAM? Who need 1024x768 resolution? Stop using this as an argument.

In general, is 16 GB not enough? I'm wondering if the extra $100 dollars to double storage is worth it?

I agree, however, I'm not ready to completely rule out a 64GB version but I think it is a longshot.

So I guess all of the current iPhone users are just using it as a phone since none have 128GB of storage.

For me it is. However, I don't need to have every last song I own, 20 movies, and 500 apps with me all the time. Others may have different needs.

I have 40GB of music. I have 10GB of photos. I've just filled up almost 64GB right there. I also have about 6GB of apps that I have on my iPhone, and that's not with ALL of the bigger ones that I own. That doesn't even get me started with videos, which I store on an external 1.5TB hard disk.

With the advent of AirPlay, it makes carrying around such things very useful. Theoretically, you visit a friend and can watch one of your movies or TV shows streamed from your iPhone or iPad. So I could fill up 128GB very easily.

As far as chances of a 64GB iPhone, I would put them pretty high. There was no storage bump last year, probably because of the added expense of the improved display, so I'm guessing it's time. I have a 64GB iPad 2, and I can easily fill that sucker up. I'm easily running out of room on my 32GB iPhone 4 even with my songs at 128k. I have only a few photos on there.

My hope is the 2012 iPhone will be compatible with both Verizon and AT&T with 4G and, dare I hope, 128GB. My AT&T contract runs out by then, but I would hate to not be able to pass that down to my parents or another relative once I'm done with it.

128k sounds godawful. I'd rather not have the song at all.

My 32 is pretty much filled to the max, I would kill for a 64 at least. However I doubt that it will come. :(

iCloud isn't coming to those of us in the UK until at least 2012.

Me. I wouldn't mind having all my music on my phone but I do like to have a device that would store my whole library.

And with going to the cloud, I don't really see a 64GB phone coming. With the new music app can't you delete songs right off your phone?

Why can't you make playlists like everybody else? It's not hard.

What do playlists have to do with anything? You realize they still need to have the songs on the phone right?

    64 I can see.

    128 is pushing it.

While I an many here could make use of the 128. I doubt the majority of users could.
