I understand that it's soldered onto the logic board, but curious to know the manufacturer. Anyone know? Would hate to have one that slows to a crawl over time..

The 256 has a samsung PM830 SSD controller, basically a Samsung 830 256GB.

Is that definite in each and every one or is Apple using multiple vendors as they have in the past with the Air SSDs and it's just luck of the draw?

More than likely not soldered. You can see the mSATA connector in various images (directly right of the SSD's flash chips).

But I agree with the above, probably a Samsung 830. Very nice!

Cool, I think you're right -- thanks for pointing that out. Maybe the SSD is upgradeable, but if its a Samsung 830 then there'd be no need to upgrade :)

Was disappointed at the selection of SSDs on the MB Airs, was hoping they chose more wisely on the new MBPs.
