What do you guys think this is?

I have just started getting these annoying lines around my screen fairly frequently . . .very annoying.

Both are random sections of different parts of my desktop.

Secondly, what kind of computer do you have?

it is a screenshot, and I have a 24" imac, 2.16 GHz, Core 2 Duo. (running S.L)

I would venture to say you are experiencing the slow death of your graphics card, as many of us have seen. I own a 24" imac 2.16 c2duo, and have experienced the same and worse graphics glitches. The only solution as of now seems to be running SMC fan controller, and manually increasing the speed of the cpu fan which also cools the overheating graphics.
