Hi all, I have 3 HomePods, 2 updated to 16.4 today, but one does not. When I go into the Home app it shows this dotted line icon, and when I tap on the 'Update" icon it just blinks and everything stays the same. Do you have any idea what's going on? Thanks!

Have you rebooted everything yet? Maybe after rebooting all devices... routers, hubs, pods, iPhones, then try again.

Just reboot router while everything else is powered down. Power up everything else after router is rebooted.

I did reboot the router. I wonder what that icon is trying to signify? I haven’t been able to find it anywhere.

No, what I meant was in my original post the rounded square, that’s all dashed lines. That must be indicating some sort of status or issue? I have not seen that before.

I interpret your screenshot to mean that HomePod version 16.4 is available for the following devices in your network. Then listed below is a device in your network that needs to be updated, your Wine Room HomePod, is displayed with a dotted outline and the download icon indicating this is the device that needs the update.

I fixed it by doing the remove/reset procedure. When It came up it was already on 16.4. I did notice that when I tapped on the Update button, I could very briefly see "Installing" then it went back to Update - so the download completed but it got in some sort of state where it was unable to install the download. So this was not one of the scenarios where the download doesn't complete. Anyway, fixed.

Wow, I will also say, searching for solutions on Google, this happens A LOT and has for years - probably something Apple should address to make things easier for people using HomePods!
