im so confused why music i had already on my iPhone disappeared from my iPhone. When I try to sync it back across it says I have to be a apple music subscriber? When did this happen? Is there another way to put my music on my iPhone for offline listening?

Is it music you had downloaded from Apple Music? Maybe during a free trial? If it is, you have to continue a paid subscription.

No. It's regular music I ripped from my cds.

Have you ttied to connect to the Mac and sync songs back onto the phone with a cable? - If the songs are on iTunes or on Music (BigSur) you should be able to sync from the Mac to the phone with no issues

You shouldn't have to be an Apple Music subscriber to sync music from a Mac's music library to iTunes using the Finder's built-in syncing mechanism.

(Maybe if you've ever used iTunes Match or Apple Music, some of your pre-ripped stuff was automatically synced using iCloud, which is something that happens with those – so maybe iOS was thinking that had halted and was required for that form of syncing? Just a hypothesis.)

i'm completely lost. i had all my iTunes music on my iPhone to listen to offline. its not there anymore and I don't have the option to do it via music. is there another way to have offline music on my phone?

I have the same case too. I want to add a ringtone to the settings list but don't know which file it is in.
