You might like or dislike his politics but what has Obama really accomplished during his years in the white house?

Not visions, not hopes just plain black on white accomplishments. :D

Making sure every Prius owner sports his dumbass bumper sticker.

@ Prof. while he gave you $ for college, he continues to do nothing to those who pay their student loans every month and have no relief in site (similar to the relief he's given deadbeat homeowners who stop paying on the mortgage they should have never been taken in the first place).

According to my Professors, the US Government is taking over student loans. Private institutions won't be able to rape college kids anymore. Relief is on the horizon. :D

Healthcare reform=FAIL Wait to you see the continued rise in healthcare dollars and the increased people on Medicaide rolls that states will be forced to pay from everyone's increases in state fees, taxes, etc.

Stimulus bill=FAIL tell that to all the people still trying to find a job and those who want to work full time but can't

    That was not her point.

People that are paying back loans receive no financial help, even if they have been faithfully making payments. These are loans used to fund their schooling.

The money you receive, also used to fund your schooling, has been dispensed.

What relief is on the horizon for those already with loan payments?

Healthcare costs were already rising in america. And healthcare in america is already more expensive per capita that much of the rest of the world with UHC (with poorer gross outcomes). The real measure of success will be health outcomes for the population in the long term. The measure of any change in cost will be if they rise at a lesser rate than they have been under the current system.

The idea of a stimulus was not to create jobs for everyone.

Thanks for some really great answers :)

However, Obama getting the Nobel peace prize must be the most retarded thing in modern history. Especially as a Swede I feel ashamed, it's a disgrace and an insult to those who have received it prior to Obama. Damn, I need a drink.

I agree. If the intention was to set up some expectation for what Obama was expected to achieve, it was clumsy and badly done.

I wouldn't know that much in detail about your domestic issues, but at least he has made the whole country appear less batsh*t crazy, although Mr. Beck has done a good job of reversing that image in the same timeframe. :)

Left Americans in all walks of life the wrong incentives for economic health & prosperity...

One thing positive is, if you are a gov't employed/union worker, you are better off... Unions are stronger now. Good for the union worker, bad for most of the hard-working small companies that create the nation we are today.

As for visions, he has a lot of them, just none of them have come into fruition...

    Stimulate don't dictate...

The very nature of this thread shows whats wrong with American politics.

Obama's Administration has been one of the most productive in history, yet because they haven't done things in a flashy way, the uninterested American people just don't get it. Meanwhile, they're more than happy to continue to listen to anyone and everyone that will talk about Obama not getting anything done.

A perfect example is the tax cut. Obama's administration did it in the most responsible way in terms of the economy, getting a few extra bucks into people's paycheck every week (or however often you're paid). Unfortunately, because they didn't go the Bush "we'll throw some money at you in a check and make sure you know who your sugar daddy is" fashion, most americans don't even realize they got a cut.

So in reality, it's a failure of both the Administration for not driving the message hard enough, and the american people for being so damn apathetic about what goes on in this country.

True. It's looking to be a good thing in the bigger picture.
