The only thing that is untethered on iOS 5 right now is the old bootrom 3Gs. Everything else is a tethered jailbreak, unless its an A5 based device.

    really

Really Dude??? Come on, you gotta search a lil bit. This is why these forums are cluttered with noobs this year trying to be hackers. It is flooded with possers. Also yet another reason why jailbreakme is not good. All of this is making jailbreaking loose its originality. saddens me. There are so many people on here trying to JB and they have No reason or understanding why they want it othere than "my friend has it".

It won't take long. There are already several exploits for iOS 5, which is good news for us. Now they just need to get it working on the new A5 processor, which they have already found several exploits for on the iPad 2.

Sadly Apple doesn't let the Dev-Team have new phones before anybody else. They also like to play with there new phones as well as everybody else. Oh and they like to use them like everybody else. So expecting them two jb it in a day is setting the bar a little high. When it's ready this forum will have the news. in the mean time play with Siri.

lol at ppl think jailbreaking an iphone is hacking. I feel sorry for you if you got an Android and want to root. Jailbreaking is nothing compared to rooting an android phone.

Redsn0w's latest release will jailbreak TETHERED an iPhone 4 running the first public release of iOS 5.0.

You never know who's going to take the next step, either Redsn0w to un-tether, or Apple with an iOS that won't jailbreak at all.

I'm going to try to get along without jail breaking for a while.

The things I use the most are iBlacklist and MyWi On Demand. iOS 5 on the iPad 2 won't jailbreak, so I've lost MyWi anyway...not sure it's worth going through all this just to use iBlacklist.

The iPhone 4 is set up now the closest to the functionality of iBlacklist that is possible...and I'll see whether it is annoying enough to cause me to jailbreak.

I don't know why Apple doesn't include the simple functionality to restrict phone calls to the contact list. I mean, we've had this functionality as far back as the old Razr V3, remember? :)

Luckily for Apple, I find the iPhone clearly preferable to any Android device that includes the ability to restrict the call list.

But...being a minor control freak, this is slightly annoying.
