What is macperformance?

I am running 10.14.5 on my 2013 macpro. I often get a message saying macperformance quit. Can someont ell me what is is and can I just move it to the trash?

A quick Google search comes up with several links indicating it might be "Malware"

I'd suggest downloading and running "MalWareBytes"
