I have a TON of audiobooks that I have collected via thrift stores and I was wondering what the best way to copy all of them over to my hard drive so I can listen to them on my iPhone?

If possible, I would like to combine the 5+ CDs of a long audiobook into one file.

Is there an app or piece of software that would do this automatically?
I do have a USB CD Drive on my Mac.

I am currently running Mac OS X Catalina.

I would assume that the Apple Music App that replaced iTunes can still import from Audio CDs and convert to whatever format specified in the import settings in the preferences (Files tab)

XLD is a great app for this that supports the creation of other file formats (wav, flac etc). Plus it has the ability to import any available online artwork.

Hello,
I had the same problem... on my iPhone ibooks app my audiobook did not appear. I downloaded a third-party app called Bookplayer. It does the job. I can create a folder for the book title and put all the tracks in it.

In my iCloud drive I created a folder for Audiobooks, then sub-folders for each title. When I add them to Bookplayer, I can create a playlist for my audiobook title. It works well for me and I can move tracks around within a playlist to change the order of play.

I bought a new desktop computer this summer with the latest OS and I've been very disappointed how iTunes is no longer available. I haven't found the Music app to be user friendly and this issue with playing audiobooks on a iPhone is rediculous that I have to use a 3rd party app.

iTunes used to have a feature where you can combine multiple, contiguous tracks (ie tracks 1-3, 5-8, etc., but not 1, 3, 6, and 11) into one file when importing. Not sure why they removed that feature. Really useful in audiobooks, and even songs that are split up into different tracks.
