If there's a music thread doing the rounds then it's almost certain that I'll have either started it or I'll be there... forcing my 'taste' on people.... heh-heh!!

So then what are peoples current fav songs?? about 5 will do... :) maybe alittle explanation if you've got a couple of spare minutes!!

    saint etienne, 'goodnight jack'
    taken from; 'good humour'
superb minimlist pop track, with excellent synth trumpet, and harpsichords... and sarah sounds divine!!

    pete yorn, 'on your side'
taken from; 'music from the morning after'
for some reason, this track has nailed everything I love about a tune, I can't even explain exactly what, but it's a simlar charateristic to some underworld songs etc etc... it's in the chord combo, the way it drops down... soz if that's too technical!! heh-heh!

    juliana hatfield, 'live it up'
    taken from; 'bed'
kinda classic alt.rock, has a 'stranglers' tinge to it... + great riff!!

    ultravox, 'all stood still'
    taken from; 'vienna'
exactly what you'd imagine if punk, ska and the new romantics were juxtaposed.
    Stonking guitar!!

    curve, 'cuckoo'
    taken from; 'cuckoo'
much underated band, but very few rock harder, and with such well defined and beautiful vocals...

So then... bring it on guys... what else should I listen to??

Their best album since Throwing Copper, without a doubt, been in the iPod since it came out:D

    Along with:

Prayer - Disturbed, an excellent chorus from a truly heavy band

Gay Bar - Electric 6, funny as f**k, great vid

The Jack - AC/DC, Bon Scott, Angus Young and a song about STDs ;)

Getaway Car - Audioslave, albums a bit patchy, but this is massive

Since Ive Been Loving You - Led Zep, say no more:D

    Others to numerous to mention.

    back in NYC!
    Christina Aguilera
The genre doesn't appeal to me that much but I love the raw power of her voice. Not many can belt it out like Xtina can.

I love this song. I can't really explain why though. I just think it is a great song.

    Missy Elliot
Such a great song. This is the song in which she says 'my twinkies look stinky on the benz'. I love this song and Missy Elliot, but the thought of her tickling me is kind of gross. :p

    Kidney Thieves
I love the beginning of this song more than anything else. Great band. I love rocker chicks.

    'Not gonna get us'
I like the upbeat rythm of his song. I like how it is techno but pop at the same time. I like how the singers are lesbians. I like a lot about tatu :D.

Great song with great vocals. I love pretty much everything about the song. Great song. Great when you want to be in a good mood.

This song is just plain beautiful. Amy Lee (I think that's her name) has such a beautiful voice and this song fits it perfectly. Fallen is a great CD.

    Madonna feat. Missy Elliot
    'American Life Missy Elliot Remix'
Hearing Madonna rap is interesting. Missy elliot rocks. Great duo right here. Just an all around cool song.

Nice to hear something new from Adema. Great band. Too bad their new CD has barely any NEW, ORIGINAL songs on it. But this song is good. Classic Adema.

I think that's it for now.

Nemesis by Earth Crisis...the band is no longer together, but this songs rocks

Loose by Primer 55 - Watch these suckas jump while I get loose! Spend the buck at the Apple music store and give it a listen.

Even though the song is beginning to be overplayed in the Chicagoland area, i'm currently addicted to "The Remedy" by Jason Mraz. Gonna buy the album when I have some time. And money.

I've never been much on the indie music scene, I'm moreso all over the indie film scene.

    Aww why not?

I have been listening to these songs for the past few hours

Non Point- "your signs" Great riffs, great lyrics, great song :)

PowerMan 5000- "let the Goodtimes Roll" this is the best cover of the song that I have ever heard :)

Dry Cell- "ordinary"- this band sounds similar to Likin Park, but is so much better with such raw talent, the song has such a great sound to it it just is.

Soil "great Black 7" hard fantastic and full of great of guitar riffs excellent drum beats and great vocals from a great vocalist, Ryan McCombs. I incourage all of you to at least hear some of the 30 second samples on the iTMS.

In flames- "cloud Connected" - This song is just AWESOME, I don't know how to describe it lmao

Well, I'm obviously listening to hail to the thief at the moment. In particular songs that really tickle me are there there, we suck young blood and Scatterbrain ad Wolf at the Door.

    In other areas there's:

Bonnie Prince Billie, - I see a Darkness

Flaming Lips - Waiting for superman

Boards of Canada - lots of stuff

    Lemonjelly - Lost horizons album

Buck 65 - Track 15 from Square (about a girl called stella)

    Phlegm - One night stands.

there's more but i won't remember them until iTunes surprises me on random mode.

sweetness, man. what counting crows stuff do you like? my alltime favorite has to be mrs potter's lullaby, but the live version of Mr Jones, the one with the accordion accompaniment, runs a close second. Angels of the Silences is a good rockin' song they do.
