I would say that the oldest application that I have and currently use often on my computer would be Graphing Calculator 2.2 from Pacific Tech. Yes, I have to boot up in OS 9 for it.

GC220 sort of functions like a mathematica application, but somewhat more shaky. But for $60 or whatever it was, it has helped me significantly in mathematical skills.

WOW -- How long ago was that released?

I am a Mac newbie so I don't have anything older than OS X.

As for the PC, I do still use Aldus PhotoStyler 2.0 on a regular basis... (released 1993)

Someday I'll upgrade to Photoshop -- for the Mac!

i have a bunch of old black and white games -- loderunner, shufflepuck, triple yatzee, backgamon, space-station pheta
i'm not sure where i got them from but i know that i've had them since they were on floppy disks and not downloaded.
they've been transfered through about 6 computers (my main ones that are changed out every so often) since they were on floppy.

PS 1 is just great... Really fast, yeah. A bit limited though :D

I don't remember when it came out, but it's old, that's for sure.

It's really fun whenever I open my graphics-app-folder on my hd when both PS 1 and PS 7-folders appear side by side... ;)

Nothing too special, 1997 version of simpletext. Don't even know why I have it, weird.

I would love to see PS1, one of you guys start it up and show a screen dump. The oldest version I ever used was PS2.5, that was at least before layers.

ALDUS PAGEMAKER 5.0

ALDUS PAGEMAKER 5.0 . Its on floppy disks. I'm running it now on my new 700mhz ibook. I love it over the new Adobe Pagemaker version. Guess I'm just used to it.

Technology has made my life complicated because now I have no excuses.

i still have software lying around that was built for win 3.0/dos :O although thats not mac appz, i remember the old win 3.0 days...ms tried to copy apple's interface n got into a law suit for it ;)...but then again win 3.0 was alot stabler than windows me..although it was slow

I've got StuntCopter (from 1988), Claris 3, ClarisDRAW 1.0, and Fontographer (which hasn't been updated since 1997).

I also have the original Mac OS under emulation - and in OS X, no less!!

let me think...

I think I have Claris Works 2.0, japanese version that came with my Performa 5320, and Filemaker Pro 2.0... ALso, a black and white absolute 2D game called "The Big One". It was a shooting game... Movie Paint or something also came with the performa, and Claris Email lite, and Super Maze Wars that came with my Dad's PB 5300.

That's all I can think of, but I'm sure there's more, and I have it on the old machines..

What the oldest application that you have on your Macintosh?

Hmmm, that would be A-Mazing. As I recall, it ran on System 1 pretty well and was the first Mac application I've ever had the pleasure of playing around with - other than the Finder that is. :)

Since I don't actually have it anymore (c'mon, it's been 18 years!), I guess I'll just have to disqualify myself...

*disqualified*
