I currently own a 2008 21'' iMac and want to upgrade, but I'm still trying to decide. I've narrowed it down to an iMac or Macbook Pro.

It depends on YOUR computational needs. What we use and upgrade to depends on our needs, thus listing our computers or future computers will not really help.

I'm rolling with an Mid-2007 24" 2.4GHz Aluminum iMac. Hopefully by Xmas, I'll be in a new 27" iMac. Outside mobiles, I can't see myself running on a monitor smaller than 24inches. I love the screen real estate too much

    I'm replacing a 13" 2011 MBP with a new rMBP.

I still love my 2010 hex core Mac Pro so that's not an issue.

My kids need a (first) computer so I'll get them a mini or iMac when they refresh.

...i know that what you need and what I need are different, I'm just curious what other people use. I stated that I'm still up in the air. It's a conversational topic.

If that is so, I am using a 2007 20" iMac and a 2009 17" MBP, though the MBP gets preferred more and more due to its bigger resolution.

    MBP13 for everything...

Due to traveling, I got a 2010 MacBookPro 13", 8GB RAM to replace my trusty 2008 iMac 20". Apps: I live in Photoshop & Dreamweaver...those two pay the bills. Of the six Macs I've owned since '99, the MBP13 is my absolute favorite. As for what I'll get when it's time to upgrade: the MBP13 is still closest to exactly what I need out of the whole Mac lineup, with the MacBookAir 13" a very close 2nd...two thumbs up for 1440x900, weight and curved edges, but the limited (but more expensive) storage is a deal-breaker.

I currently have a July 2011 MacBook Air, no current plans to upgrade, am waiting to see if a 13 inch Retina Pro is released this fall.
