What would a Trump win in 2016 mean for the world?

IMO world politics would become very interesting Russia and China the Middle East.

Would it be all macho talk or would it be business as usual?

How would a Trump administration handle the trade in-balance?

Would a Trump administration have a bigger or smaller military?

Would the USA still play the world's policeman?

No sure how the world will view Trump, but this is how Trump views the world...

Just a follow up question how do you think Hollywood & music would be treated by a Trump administration?

Family values/censorship or true free market?

Well Trump has shown that he absolutely hates being criticized. Resorting to antics like releasing phone numbers and threatening to run as an independent (the GOP's worst fear). So if he could do something to shut up his critics in the media, he probably would.

Who knows? He and his band of loyal followers might make book burnings popular once again!

I have concerns that a man so wrapped up in delusional fear rhetoric, despite being shielded from the harshities of everyday life by billions of dollars could one day be in charge of one of the worlds largest nuclear arsenals.

Plus he said he wants to date his daughter...... Just weird.

All joking apart the debt is the elephant in the room.
It's not going to go away if you don't do something about spending far more than you earn.
Future generations are really going to be left holding the broken bucket.:(

It's just one of the many things we need to rethink in the coming years. Ideological purity hasn't helped much in the last couple decades but we don't see that yet.

The reason I asked was here in Europe we have had 3 main right wing populists, Berlusconi, Marine Le Pen, Gerrit Wilders. All have championed anti immigration, but when it comes to economics, this mostly been empty promises.

Read the book and saw both films.
(They did an australian remake TV movie in the 90s.)

I actually enjoyed the TV movie more than the cinema version with Gegory Peck.

The fear, loathing, controversy, anger and sheer emotional responses that result anytime Donald Trump is mentioned.. is Wonderful!

    It proves this nation is:
    Still Alive
    Still Cares
And will Respond when spoken to by a Leader.

    Ah Yes!

    Maybe so.

But people seem to think the money is owed to the Iron Bank of Braavos. Its not. Most the United States Federal debt is owed to either US individuals and investors; or - complicated as it sounds - to other agencies of the Federal Government itself.

That isn't to say the US shouldn't be concerned about long-term rates of economic growth; spending; and taxation. But the current panic-mongering over "the debt!!!!" is extremely short-sighted, and fiscally and monetarily unwise. Its the equivalent of a guy with a $3 million mortgage on his estate putting used tires on his Mercedes. It might save a little bit of cash today; but its dangerous; makes us look stupid; and doesn't do anything to address the real issues.
