At $3,500, the Apple Vision Pro is one heck of an expensive device, possibly costing around or more than a used car. And after seeing all the entertainment features available, including Apple Immersive videos and Disney+ functionality, it makes me more desperate to get it or at least walk into an Apple store to get a demo. The former option is off limits for me because of obvious reasons, but I might do the latter to get a small taste of it, then go back to dreaming of owning one until Apple comes out with a cheaper headset. Again, $3,500 is a lot of money for a very expensive headset, especially in this economy, and I am looking at buying a Quest 3 or one of those smart glasses from companies like Xreal. That said, what about you? What will you buy instead of an Apple Vision Pro?

(Fun fact: the headset comes out the day before my birthday)

So Calif
You need to buy it for your birthday.😅

I have tried many different VR brands and I am excited with the upcoming AVP.

Yes, it's expensive but for an early adopter, it's natural.

To compare, my first EV was $75,000 novel first year EV pickup truck and my second EV was $53,000 3rd year model crossover.

Both expensive vehicle compared to an ICE but then I bought the EV for it's novelty, TCO and overall feeling of good.

So the AVP may seem expensive, but in reality, it's a breakthrough device at a first of a kind entry...

There’s no real alternative headset yet with the same quality except maybe Varjo XR4. However that is tethered to a Pc and no oled.
