Hello all. Purchased a PS3 and 6 games. New to console gaming (only have a wii)

I have no internet at home anymore, and was curious what is the best way to update most effectively when I go to my friends and connect to wifi or ethernet?

If I install all 6 games ahead of time, when I get to his house and activate the ps3 on his network, will it then download all necessary patches for my games, as well as the PS3 update?

Or will I have to bring each disk, and insert one by one to get a proper update while there.

    Thanks in advance.

You could, Download the update from Sony's website, stick it on a USB stick, put into your ps3.

Most updates to games on the system are generally multiplayer patches, rather than single player fixes. If you have no Internet access at home, you won't be playing multiplayer, so I wouldn't be too concerned.

And in regards to taking to a friends house, not all games on ps3 have installs, and so you would need to take our discs with you. The only way to get automatic patch downloads on ps3 is to sign up to PSN+ which if you don't have regular Internet access is pointless.

Just wondering, but why would you need to update it if you're not playing online? I don't think they've added anything new in a long time, other than the Vita data backup thing (might have answered my question there :D)

Thanks for the responses. Basically I am looking for any game updates or downloadable content that the games may require from online. I know you can update the ps3 via a thumb drive but as far as getting the games synced, I was curious as to how much is involved to update them.

    Thanks

For game updates you would have to connect your PS3 to an internet connection.
