it has a small weird dot, looks like a sensor or something.

Yep. I wouldn't most likely use it but that's not the point. It was marketed as having an ambient light sensor which was supposed to adjust brightness automatically within macOS. Of course, this wasn't possible by LG on this display even though it was on the Apple Thunderbolt Display from 8-9 years ago. Obviously, this was just too much technology for LG to handle. It too hawd!...too hawd.
