Why can't they just let app developers create an app which copies lyrics to iTunes? The last two that I had were closed/cancelled since music companies didn't gave them permission to use lyrics and copy them to iTunes.

I mean, I know lyrics are copyrighted, but I just want them for being able to follow a song!!

Is there any real issue with developers accessing lyrics?

They don't want to give away what they think they can make even the smallest amount of money on.

I believe lyrics are owned by the song writer not the record company. So it would be ASCAP not the RIAA.
