Here's a funny tidbit about me: I love zelda games but have never finished one. Something always comes up that keeps me to busy for games for a few months and I forget what I am supposed to be doing in the game when I get back.

That said, either the first Zelda or Minish Cap was my favorite. I'm eagerly awaiting The Phantom Hourglass, and have promised myself that I will finish it!

I've played, and own, nearly all of them but have only beat Ocarina of Time. That one happens to be my absolute favorite as well.

I continually lost my save game on Zelda 1, and the same for A Link to the Past... I was on the last dungeon too!

I'm currently at the very last dungeon of Wind Waker and have enjoyed it, but not near as much as Ocarina of Time. Minish Cap is next on my list to beat...

I would have to go with...mmm... just based on how much fun we had playing it, either Adventure of Link, or the Seasons/Oracles game, because I liked the linked cartridge thing. :)

Links Awekening was the only one I really liked. Trading for the magnifying glass was so much fun.

Easily Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past. I think it's one of my all time favourite games.

Finally, Zelda III gets the love it deserves. Also Link's Awakening and Zelda I, of course.

I don't really like what they did with the series after Nintendo 64. It just got steadily worse from there. Like many of my favorite titles, it was watered down for the kiddies.

Really? Maybe it was just me but I found LttP easier then OoT! I thought they did a great transition from 2D to 3D as well. I do love me some LttP though, it is definitely great. Minish Cap really looks like it worth sequel on the 3D side...

I've been collecting the Zelda games for my GBA SP and so far have:
    - Oracle of Seasons
    - Oracle of Ages
    - Link to the Past
    - Minish Cap

I have yet to have time start any of them yet though, gah! I told myself I would finish Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stone first.

Overall, GBA is Zelda paradise! :D

I've only played Ocarina of time and forward, I LOVED that game, even majora's mask was fun, wind waker didn't hold my attention well.

I would go so far to say Ocarina of time is the best game I've ever played

Yeah for puzzles, it just didn't feel the same for me, the themes were strange and it abandoned its more serious background for a "fun, romping Mario-like adventure" (IMHO).

No one liked Zelda II or the CDi games?

I like LttP the best but I really liked the combat from Wind Waker. Looking forward to Twilight Princess!

Zelda II looked cool, but I sucked at it. Hard game!

I was talking to my brother about Twilight Princess today... but I called it Moonlight Warrior. :D

I can confidently say Link to the Past. It was so cool, the concept of a parallel world, amazing. I'm lookin forward to TP.

The original Legend of Zelda was great for it's time, but A Link To The Past was such a great step forward, and a wonderful refinement of the the series. The best.

Oh well I've played through it both on the Snes and on the GBA so that should cover us :p It's a great game.

The best Zelda? I loved them all for different reasons and but if I had to put one in front of the others.

    Link To The Past
    Ocarina of Time
The Minish Cap (good on you Konami)
    Majora's Mask
    Links Awakening

Hey I quite enjoyed the CDi ones too  Sorry, but I was v.young :D :D

Fighting to stay in the EU
I've come to the conclusion that I cannot answer this. I value each one in such a different way.

I could never play through OoT again. Though I'd say I had more fun on that than any other Zelda. I could play Minish Cap over and over though it's not my fave at all, it doesn't push the series in any new direction and feels very recycled.

(in order of play, it's pretty disjointed and I've only finished 2. *insert reflective shock*)
Links Awakening- Introduced me to the series. Great great game. Finished
Ocarina of Time- The most grand game I've ever played. Finished
Majoras Mask- Had no idea what was going on, didn't enjoy it much.
WindWaker- Love it. Very fun, very replayable, just dull at the Triforce bit.
Link to the Past- Alright. Think I was a little too late for this one.
Minish Cap- Mini and fun. Lovely slice of Hyrule pie.
Zelda 1- Only finished 1 dungeon. Good. maybe too hard right now
