    Didn't see a thread the 2012 WHCD.

It kind of snuck up on me this year; I didn't realize it was tonight.

Hopefully Kimmel will do alright, I don't usually watch his show unless there's a musical act on I want to catch.

Not a big fan of Kimmel either. But the event itself is usually entertaining.

There have been some wild ones over the years.... :D

They should have had Stephen Colbert back, after his shots at Republican Bush.

This time POTUS would be on the floor, not popping a vein in his forehead.

Couldn't find a link, can we watch this online or do we have to wait until someone posts it?

I'm afraid this event is strictly off-limits for any live reporting/recording.

You will just have to await the reviews from those in attendance.

    Sorry.

What is it with Americans and initialisms, this may mean something in the U.S. elsewhere probably not.

You have a problem doing a Google search??

I did it, and suffered no shame.

Next time I'll assume a lower intelligence quotient for our international audience who usually have no problem with other topics on American politics, life and culture. ;)

As Ben Franklin once pointed out in one of his famous quotes regarding the virtues of frugality, using "White House Correspondents' Dinner" requires more ink than just simply using "WHCD"...

The point being it's not to do with intelligence it's to do with obfuscation, hey we're important enough to call our groovy hacks meeting with an acronym,as for adding the state acronym to large well known places what's that about I know Los Angeles is in California or if not referring to the huge city in Russia Moscow probably refers to Idaho. (don't get me started about Canadiens and London)

Western culture (i.e. U.S.)?"sounds like a good idea". Ghandi

If one is keen to participate on a website devoted primarily to American happenings, then one ought to be ready to encounter the local lingo.

"Perchik" has some issues with the U.S., as do we all.

He should embrace the axiom "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer".

It will serve him well in the future.

Do I really need to that user with the whole 'this is a website based in America that follows an American company' mentality?

So that you can then be that user who takes on the 'well, Apple is a multinational company with operations around the world' mentality?

Perhaps this will be enough to satisfy your daily yearning for a PRSI argument.

Last time I quoted him I attributed it to "some Asian bloke" to prevent denunciation as some kind of Socialist/Anarchist/Communist/Nihilist passive aggressive.

    ----------

No doubt you'll be able to provide data on Apple stockholders nationalities and more importantly the nationalities of those who actual produce your toys.

It's akin to the OP (NathanMuir) doing the ostrich - head buried in the sand and arse in the air. Oh look there's Mac'nCheese too.
