I keep getting messages telling me my 5GB storage limit is almost full. So what happens if I do nothing?

Does iCloud start deleting the older stuff first?

Will Photostream photos on iPhoto on my macbook start disappear?

    Will any puppies die?

I’d imagine it’s just going to stop uploading whatever you have auto upload with. On your iOS and mac’s, data/music/photos are going to not upload to the iCloud but start to take up internal space until that is full and then......the puppies die!

Or you could off load onto an external drive/source or pony up and get more iCloud space.

    Thanks.

So I have iPhoto on my MacBook which has a number of Photostream events/albums containing photos I've taken on my iPhone. Lets say I delete content from my iCloud account to free up space, will I lose those photos on my MacBook. Are those particular photos stored in iCloud or are they stored on my MacBook?

Your content will just stop uploading and syncing with iCloud so you’ll have to makes sure you do a backup through iTunes of your phone and photos etc.

From what I believe, you can delete stuff from iCloud and not lose on MacBook. However if you delete from MacBook you delete everywhere. iCloud keeps things synced between all your Apple devices and services.

Like the other poster said, iCloud is used for syncing across devices. If you delete on MacBook it will delete the content ie photo etc. permanently. I must say Apple have been a bit skimpy with info on the confusing iCloud and syncing backup and deleting etc.
