I'm conflicted. On one hand, it's not right to make fun of special needs kids. On the other hand, it's funny.

Heh, I have actually been to galt ca.

No matter what he names it someone will be offended, a sign of the times.

There's a barbecue place in DF (mexico city) called "pinche Gringo's". Nobody appears offended over it as the pc crowd is still pretty much non existant here. Guess what, a big part of the customers are from the us.

Like how most homophobes insult or go after gay people, those who make fun of special needs kids... is that what you mean?

I'm sure Galt will save them, once Galt - if not the author of that trash when she wrote it decades ago - sobers up. Dang, it's easy and fun to make contextless ad hominem name calling at others' expense. Should do what the Romans do and do it more often... or maybe not...

Well, it's more the picture on the front of the t-shirt...

Though if it makes you feel better, my mom became a parapro after she retired. She rides the short bus Monday through Friday.

There was a barbecue place in arkansas called "wild ass barbecue". I'm sure the touchy, feely crowd was offended for wild asses.

Not having any school busses here at all the short bus joke would not mean anything.

It wasn't donkey meat, just like they are not putting disabled kids in the beer.

Funny on the one hand, typical on the other. There's been a steady coarsening of what's deemed acceptable in products and advertising. Products are now named after once verboten words, as are the tag lines for said products.

With apologies to my vegan friends; that's one awesome way to cook a steak. Down to the choice of wine to pair it with.

I love how it breaks character for that split second to explain its choice of wines, too.

I hate to have to say it, but that is both funny - and very instructive. And yes, I must say that enjoyed the piece at the end when the writer broke character to recommend a good wine pairing with the steak.

I like to sear it on high for 2 mins per side, then into the oven at 500 degrees for 5 mins.
