Where are all my downloads going?

They usally show up in your Desktop right? They are not there? Where would they be?

What browser are you using. Have you checked in prefs to make sure your download settings havent changed? And lastly have you clicked on the desktop. (sometimes it wont show up there until the location is clicked on.)

OK, now that's werid. I happened to open my trash can and found all of my downloads inside. Why would they go directly from downloading to my desktop to my trash?

Are you downloading .gz files?

i've noticed something very annoying in Tiger. When downloading .gz files in Safari once downloaded it unzips the file to your dl directory and then deletes the compressed version. I'm trying to find a way to switch this off as i keep having to recover the .gz files from the trash.

I haven't had a chance to look properly yet, but it must be a feature you can turn off.... I hope.
