Ive got a 10gb ipod that got smoked when the firewire plug went in the wrong direction on a cheap firewire card on my old windows box. Ya, ya, firewire is suppose to only go one way but the card was cheap, the port was flimsy, and the plug slipped in with virtually zero resistance. And before I knew what happened it was dead. Id still like to use the hdd out of it, assuming its still good. I *think* the control board just got zapped by plugging in the wrong way, but the hdd may have been damaged too. Does anyone know of a pocket-type external firewire case I could put that hdd in?
