Anyone here know if or where one can still find a 27" 2012 iMac? The ones that carry the current design but prior to the Retina models being released? and also if there's a place one can still obtain a custom configured one?

There are quite a few 2013 non-Retina's on the Apple Refurb store, of varying spec: http://goo.gl/GnFx6w

    Are you in the USA?

I just made a post in a thread about the Apple refurbished offerings but haven't checked up for a reply. I am indeed in the US. My question in the post I made in the other thread was if anyone knew if these get a new outer shell / body and if the unit is free of any nicks, marks, and scuff marks.

This unit here http://www.apple.com/shop/product/G0PG7LL/A/refurbished-27-inch-imac-35ghz-quad-core-Intel-Core-i7 would be pretty much what I'm looking for sadly the price is pretty high given its very much comparable to the current models.

I thought about picking up one of these machines given they would run Win7 a lot better than the Retina units which is currently what I have now but do plan to keep.

Mac of All Trades is your best bet. They also seem to offer the lowest price on Mac computers (used) anywhere. I have used them numerous times in the past for purchases as well as selling my Apple gear to them, no issues.
