I downloaded the High Sierra update from the App Store on a Mac Pro Running Sierra. After a few seconds, a 19.7MB "Install macOS High Sierra.app" file was downloaded to the Applications folder. After running the installer, it downloaded for about 10 minutes and then displayed the "Ready to install" window. However, at this point, the installer file in the applications folder is still 19.7MB. I was expecting the full installer as usual, so I could copy it before continuing the upgrade (I'm upgrading several Macs and want the 10.13.1 installer file).

Where on my Mac can I find the full 10.13.1 installer file, or have their changed the behavior this time around so only the 19.7MB "pre-installer" is available?

Also, the 10.13.1 file is not yet available at https://support.apple.com/en_US/downloads.

Very strange. I downloaded the entire 5gb file on my MacBook Pro less than 30 minutes ago from the App Store. I installed (from a previous beta), rebooted, and the installer is removed. Did you try the direct link for the file from the forum?

Something strange is going on. I noticed the update in the App. Store and went to install it. It told me it was downloading 1.66 GB, which I thought was reasonable for a point update. The install proceeded along with a reboot, as usual. After reboot I am still on 10.13 and no point update is available to me in the App. Store and none is listed as being installed.

Is it possible it happened because I have the 10.13.0 installer on another disk? And the installer only download the extra files for 10.13.1? In the past I have been unable to download the installer file form the App Store even though that partition did not hav the file in the Applications folder (I have multiple installations of MacOS on various drives and partitions on my Mac Pro).

Anyway, I clicked install and 10.13.1 installed fine. However, I don't have the installation file now. I'll download it later from the Apple website once it's up there.
