I used to use Safari exclusively, but I was tired of being so slow and moving my tabbed websites around unintentionally. It really became a frustrating experience. I love Chrome icons on the tabs, but now Safari does the same, which is really great. I miss Safari seamless integration, so I wonder if its time to go back.

I'd like to know your experience on browsers and what do you use and why?

Tips on how to speed up Safari will be a great bonus.

Here's how I use browsers :

When plugged in : I use Chrome due to better performance from Reddit and all major websites that I use.. Same for my light web browsing, however when I need to take care of something sensitive say bank account or something along the lines of work related stuff I switch to Safari

Not plugged in I basically use Safari only due to better battery life.

I do use Firefox to access my work Timesheet & web apps

TLDR; I cannot use Safari for all my daily tasks on MacOS, I split all the tasks between 3 browsers.. I do use Firefox exclusively for work web apps.

Safari for everything that isn't YouTube or a site that just runs better in Chrome.

I like Chrome, but I don't like their data collection or battery issues.

A mix between Chrome, Safari, and Firefox for me. I find that each browser does some things better than the other, which is why I opt for all three of them almost on a daily basis. Chrome mainly for videos, Firefox for Reddit and other forums, and Safari for Facebook, Barclays website, PayPal, and a couple of other websites. However, if I am going to pick a winner out of the three, it would certainly be Chrome because there's where all my bookmarks, settings, extensions, saved passwords, auto-fill forms, etc. are located.

Exclusive Safari. The zoom feature in Safari is the best and I always use it. My internet connection is too slow to support 4K and I don't use any display above 1440p so safari is fine for that.

Chrome as the main and firefox and opera on the side. I used to use safari exclusively for many years but I've ditched it b/c it is slow and the ui is ugly. I would delete it if I could from my mac.

Opera has a built-in vpn which is a plus. When I type in urls in the address bar in safari, there is always some lag for autofill which isn't there in chrome or firefox or opera.

Safari is "my main browser" -- used for [almost] everything

I use the Epic Privacy Browser when I want a "proxy connection" that hides my identity from the sites that I visit.

I use Firefox here and there, occasionally.

I use Opera for just one site that I visit (which for some reason works best using Opera).

I DO NOT use Chrome at all.

You can delete it from your Mac...For me there is no lag in suggestions. As for the UI I have to agree with you. It's not the prettiest.

Do you have a guide for uninstalling safari on mac? I'm not able to delete it.

@vaugha I've never done it myself but I believe you'd need a 3rd party software capable of removing system applications like Clean My Mac, AppZapper, etc. However, I don't really see a need for that as you can just remove it from Dock and just forget it's even there.

Use Safari for pretty much everything these days... did use Chrome a few years back, but just prefer the look and feel of Safari.

Stream YouTube to the TV via my iPhone so watching 4k videos on the iMac doesn't really bother me.

I use Firefox exclusively. I have used Safari only to see if there is an issue with a website that I thought wasn't being properly shown by Firefox. Usually it turns out the be the websites fault.

I would advise AGAINST deleting Safari.
It has "hooks and ties" into the OS itself.
If you don't want Safari to open, designate another browser to become your "primary browser" to open when ever a clicked URL tries to "open a browser".

Since safari developer preview was out, im using it till now with the help of chrome beta of course, but by time ongoing safari DP gets more features to take on chrome browsing, so far my Safari DP had 479/555 html5test whilst chrome 523/555.
Safari DP consumes lesser energy, and noticing which sites consumes more energy

Firefox because it has option to delete history, etc. when you exit. i wouldn't use Chrome because it only exists so google can see everything you are doing and sell that information. I sometimes use Safari
