10.5 of course. It's cheaper and more portable. Most don't need/want the extra screen real estate of the 12.9", especially with the extra price.

Thanks. Which do you all think is more difficult to make?

They will if it replaces people's computers which is apple's goal.

Difficult to make? One is larger than the other and they share similar components. You have machining and handheld assembly. That would be a tough judgment call to decide which one is more difficult.

10.5, and for me it was about portability, not price. If I could have both models, I would have a 12.9" for my desk and a 10.5" for everything else. But since I can only choose one, the 10.5" was the sweet spot for me. At night when I'm not using it for productivity tasks in keyboard mode, I still like the smaller size when I'm using it for reading, watching video, or whatever else.

Sales for iPads to date (in volume order) was as follows
  • Apple iPad 9.7 32GB (2017)
  • Apple iPad Pro 9.7.
  • Apple iPad mini 4.
  • Apple iPad Pro 12.9.
  • Apple iPad Mini 2.

With all due respect, that’s nonsense. There’s nothing more masculine or professional about the 12.9in iPad.

In answer to the original question, the 10.5 will be many times more popular than the 12.9in, just because of portability.
I read that post as an attempt at making a joke. :)

Since the 10.5 is simply replacing the 9.7 I expect it to enjoy similar sales. The 12.9 Pro has been somewhat of a niche since day-1. But I reserve the right to change my mind once iOS 11 is released. Depending upon how that turns out, I can see the possibility of a surge in 12.9 sales.

I'd say 10.5, given the price difference, and its more portable and hold-able. I think the 12.9 is nice, but it may have a reputation has being a laptop replacement so people may not consider it as a pure iPad for the sake of watching movies or other content consumption - I'm just assuming mind you.

Probably the 10.5 but after experiencing the 12.9 I can't see myself using anything smaller. I had the same experience with the 7 Plus.

Yeah looking at my 9.7 pro it looks so small

But depends on the situation a lot of the time

Battery life is miles better on my new 12.9 compared to my 9.7
