White House: US/Mex boarder wall, $25 million per mile.

It may cost up to $25 million per mile to build the wall.
Even the low end suggests $8 million per mile.

Comes out to $50 billion for the wall ($16 billion low end).

I read earlier estimates of at least $1 to 2 million per mile, but this just blows those estimates away.

The irony is if the economic conditions in Mexico was to improve those millions of undocumented workers would go home on their own.
There are many ways to do this, and have more US jobs as well, be imaginative.

And what about the illegals coming from Canada? (semi sarcastic)

He's also going to start construction in 2019, seems pretty slow.

What do we spend now to maintain the fence that is already there? Probably not a whole lot since there are hundreds of holes in it.

That's actually rather clever. Then when it's time for re-election, he can say that people need to vote him in again if they want the wall finished, and that production it 70% done, but the opposition wants to tear down all of what has been built so far.

Why not just give every Mexican a shock collar and bury an invisible fence. Bet it would be cheaper. /s

What a waste. $50 billion for something that can be defeated with Mexico's patented wall-jumping device:

And meanwhile, in Flint, Michigan, it has been over 2 years since they have had clean, drinkable water.

and $25 million per mile for a WALL?

You don't even need that. Just a good pole to vault with or maybe a human version of this:

    Wtf Obama?

As for the wall, the mexicans are going to pay for it through tariffs and lost factories.

    That isn't paying for anything.

It's like building a fence between your house and your neighbor, and saying they paid for it because you slashed the tires of their car.

The bank account from where the money comes from is yours, no matter how much damage you inflict upon your neighbor.

Sadistic ... and doesn't pay for anything.

It's just evil and sadistic to inflict damage on someone else because they don't buy into your insane scheme.

That is the cost to build the wall. That does not include the cost of maintaining the wall. That's going to cost hundreds of millions every year. Perpetually.

Another irony is that those illegals wanting to go home can't because of... wait for it... the wall.

Or the illegals that come with a valid visa and overstay?
