I haven't been able to find 38mm to demo in my area so I can't make a real comparison on my wrist but it seems like the classic buckle on stainless steel looks the best among all apple watches, as it seems to have some stylistic cues from a traditional timepiece (2 rolexes, 2 panerai and 1 patek, also some g-shocks) but still retaining that smartwatch look.
The aluminum just didn't seem good to my eyes while space gray kind of looks nice, as at least in pictures, the space gray seemingly resembles the (matte) ceramic finish of a black seal Panerai watch, which i love.
But since I haven't tried these two in person, I'm not so sure which pictures to believe, since in some pictures, the space gray looks rather cheap.
The dilemma here is that I don't really think that the first generation apple watch is worth $649, or $300 more than the sport.
It really comes down to how I will use the apple watch: if I end up using it just for working out and lounging about at home, then I would probably prefer to get the sport.
But if I actually use it for not only working out, but also traveling or hanging out, then I should probably go ahead and get the stainless steel or the space black.
What do you guys think?
Does the Space Gray look nice like a ceramic watch? Or does it look cheap?
Did anyone return the space gray and get the apple watch in stainless steel?
Does anyone also collect traditional watches and tried to use the apple watch in a rotation?
Also I'm thinking about buying one for my wife, who currently rotates a collection currently.
Should I buy her the stainless steel? aluminum? she's said that she doesn't really want it, although I think she's just saying that.
