Not me! It's gonna be too crazy down there. I'm leaving work early and getting the hell out of the Loop. Can you imagine how insane it's going to be trying to get home after that?

Do you live nearby, or a little further out of the Loop?

I live about 30 minutes from downtown. I'm in Elgin :)

So taking the train is defiantly what im going to do. I know it's going to be so crowded, but hopefully they have the tent all blocked off, i would think they would.

I'm just worried when the heck I'm going to get my ticket.

All the way out in Elgin? It's gonna take you a lot longer to get to the Loop than 30 minutes. If I were you, I'd leave very early. I bet the trains will be running late too. I live in the city and probably will be on the only northbound red line train tomorrow afternoon.

Well 30 minutes from downtown. Train takes about an hour and 10 minutes from here to union. I'm probably going to get in the city between 4 and 5PM.

People are already gathering down here. They started showing up last night! It's going to be just nutty. There's no way I'm staying here past 4:30.

Looks like people are coming from all around the state!
Tickets are going for $1000s of dollars.

Barack will be behind bullet proof glass, so no need to worry about him!

Sounds like a fun party... sitting behind a big wall of bullet proof glass.

Pretty sad that they have to have the bullet proof glass.
Although better than the alternative, of course.

Definitely better. But is it a big bullet proof box or something? Or is it just a wall?

Looks to me just like a sheet of bulletproof plastic/glass , pretty between him and the crowd, with a large blue backdrop.

I can't wait to see it, it should be epic!
    What time is it happeningv?

Are there any webcams of the party site? Would be interesting to check in on from time to time...

just heard from my in-laws who are in their condo bordering the south side of grant park and will be watching the returns and the party at the same time. :)

i think it will be like that scene in Ocean's 11 when Basher is watching the building get demolished on TV as it happens live right behind him; they will be watching Obama's speak on TV as it happens live just a block or two up the street :)

I hear Metra will be running extra trains tonight to accommodate the crowds going back and forth to Chicago.

    Should be insane. :p

    Found one here.

Scroll all the way to the bottom in Safari. Couldn't get it to work in Firefox. Clearly not much happening yet!

It's gonna be chaos. I mean, Pride is usually the biggest event in Chicago every year with about half a million people, and that is crazy. This will likely be more than twice that. It's gonna be unbelievable.
