iPhone X Why can’t you turn WiFi/Bluetooth off from control center anymore?

I just recently upgraded to an X running iOS 11.3.1 from a 6S running 10.2. I noticed when I pull down control center and tap the WiFi or Bluetooth icons it doesn’t actually turn them off just deactivates them temporarily. What is the reason for this?

To maintain connectivity with other Apple devices like the Watch, AirPods, HomePod, etc...

    Also it's used for AirDrop.

If you really need to turn it off completely, you can still do so from settings.

This is something that really annoys me. I wish there was an option to make WiFi & BT switch off completely from Control Centre like it used to. Disconnected temporarily for me is rubbish, I like to switch on and off without diving into Settings. Simple.

It disconnects from the current connection. I think this is the best way to go about it as bluetooth and wifi are used for other products and services.
