Why is £UK Price of AppleTV still the same?

    Steve Jobs announced that :apple:TV Take 2 would be cheaper than the original AppleTV... yet the prices on the UK Apple Store are still the same... are they going to be lowered when :apple:TV Take 2 starts shipping? :confused:

    They're the same price in Hong Kong too unfortunately, so it's not just you.

    I think in the USA the :apple:TV device is discounted because Apple expect to be earning money off of the rentals, in the same way Sony discount the PS3 because of future game sale income. In the UK the rentals aren't here yet, so we still have to pay the full price.

    Stupid business decision IMO. Nobody is going to buy :apple:TV here at the current price if they expect it to be heavily discounted at the exact moment it suddenly becomes a viable purchase. But that's Apple for you :rolleyes:
