This has confused me for a while now so perhaps someone can enlighten me. When I save an image from a web page in safari by choosing “Add to photos” why doesn’t it appear in the All photos view? Instead the only way to find the image is to go to Albums - Recents. I feel like the Princess Bride - you keep using that word All Photos, I do not think it means what you think it means”

The new’ish photo app is so convoluted with its myriad views, albums, streams…. Not to mention you have to decide whether to use local storage, Photo Streams, or iCloud Photos.

Fo me, it does indeed appear in all photos, too. Just like Mr.Blacky said.

I do not have iCloud Photos activated thou. Maybe „all photos“ behaves differently when you are using iCloud Photos….

Doesn't make any difference. I tried it on a device with iCloud Photos enabled and one one device with iCloud Photos disabled and it's the same on both.

The new’ish photo app is so convoluted

It’s Apple’s way to make some things worse as some other aspects get improved.
It’s a 100% certainty that future versions of the Photos App will be even worse in some ways than the current version.
That’s just how it goes.

On a webpage, touch and hold finger on an image. You'll get a menu; choose 'Add to Photos'. That saves a copy of the photo do your device's storage.

Shows up in all photos for me too, and I have iCloud enabled. 15.3 RC.

I wish photos and screenshots/images saved were not intermingled.

(Yes, I know about there is a "Screenshots" view within photos, and also know I can manually save images to other places like Files. I wish there were separate libraries at the system level, like separate "add to photos" and "add to images" buttons. I also know I am probably alone in this wish, and know it has a snowball's chance in hell of ever happening, haha)

The "all Photos" view is sorted by date, so if the saved image as an older date in his exif data it will not be at the bottom...
I’ve been experimenting and it only happens with certain images. For example anything that is sent via a mailchimp mailing list and has images cached to their CDN won’t show up in All Photos when I tap and choose “Add to photos”. It also happens with emails from my utility. I think the common thread here is that I tend to save images from email bodies and they can be hit or miss. Maybe they are saved to my All Photos with the original date of 2016 or something? I have switched to the Recents album, that always works. I liked the simplicity of camera roll.
