My iPhone 4 on Verizon has such a slow 3G connection. Why is this? Look at this video and it explains it all! http://youtu.be/xhBvUl0pBtw

I have the same problem when I'm in Orange County. Horrible 3G service, it's VERY slow. Maybe you need to reset the network or something? Check verizon.com and see if you have decent coverage in that area.

It's most likely due to the coverage in your area, but signal strength and your distance from a tower are likely contributors.

Verizon 3G is slower than AT&T 3G. Follow the instructions in the link to enter field test mode and report back your signal strength. "Dial" that number again to get rid of the signal meter. Lack of signal plus slower overall data speeds will show up. My iPhone on Verizon is noticeably slower than my AT&T iPhone. Verizon's coverage is better in my area though, so I'd rather have slower data everywhere than faster data and no signal when I need it.

I agree murdoc. More coverage is more important than data speed.

And now I can wait for VZ's faster LTE.

That's the BS verizon wants people to buy with their comercials in order to tolerate their turtle slow 3G speeds.
You will get more coverage but more very slow coverage:D
And actually with the OP's video 1mbps is pretty good for CDMA 3G.
Some dont even get half of that.
