Some love it, but there seems to be plenty of people hating on the space grey. Me personally, I would never get the gold or silver because I can't stand a white front. Black makes much more sense.

Slate did look awesome, but grey looks just as good. And if it means reducing/removing scuffgate, I'm all for it. The gold and silver look cool and all, but the space grey is still the closest thing we have to black.

I don't think anybody can say until they physically hold the phone. This is one of the reasons I may not order one online on the 20th.

Its the color I'm getting, but by default.

I would have much preferred slate like the iPhone 5 which I think is BEAUTIFUL, but its unavailable so space grey it is.

I don't love it or hate it but I do hate the other two options.

It's pretty cool to think that my slate iPhone will not be offered anymore.

I really like the space gray, though. I'm waiting to see if they have any significant problems with wear.

    A white front is disgusting...

I liked the stealthy look of the slate iPhone 5. The black fits in with the hard anodized metal, and how it's all black. I don't mind the space gray, but I'd definitely prefer slate

I have a white iPhone 5 and waned to get a black one for the 5s. I am not sure anymore because the slate is so much nicer in my opinion. Even though the space is a nice color I don't like the contrast of the black next to the space grey color of the band. With the slate it blends in with the black and actually gives the optics that the phone is slimmer since it all seems to blend in. Plus it just looks like a stealth bomber. I have been thinking of just getting a black iPhone 5 before next week!

I agree - the black looks fantastic and mine has held up quite well in daily use. The finish is actually quite durable even though the common perception is to the contrary. I think this stems from the initial production problems where the phone was arriving scratched out of the box in many cases.

It is true that scratches caused by drops are more noticeable because of the contrast but when you drop the phone that is to be expected. Even the battle scars on my wife's white iphone 5 are noticeable due to the reflection of light hitting the scratches. Wabi-Sabi - look it up :)...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wabi-sabi

The space gray reminds me of the Oakland Raiders - as a 49ers fan that is not good ;-).

All of that said, if it makes you happy - go for it. Life is too short!

yes, I'm happy you all hate the white front, that means easier for me to get my white/silver iPhone on the 20th :p

Also, scuffgate, really? Unless scuffs appear while grabbing it the wrong way then just stop it. :p

I strongly object to the elimination of Black. The gray is fine as an additional color, but to sacrifice Black is just one more example of Apples greed. One less color to produce and one less choice. Apple is eager to show who's in control. Over & over & over again.

Yes a very tyrannical regime that doesn't offer black.

They realized that the black doesn't hold up well when scuffed and so they just went with a lighter shade that won't look as worn when the coating comes off.

    Excellent point!

Besides being a popular color, Black has been Apples signature color when they turned to metal as the material of choice. To drop that color in favor of gray might also be a way to make the 5S stand out in public as the "new 5S" given the fact that its otherwise indistinguishable from the 5.

    Who knows?

But the one thing I _do know is that I won't be one to be forking over the money as I have for every new iPhone in the past :D

Apple realized they made very poor choices of colors so that is why they brought back their official cases. They now have two phones with white front. Are you kidding me? Also, if you buy a gold and put a case on it all you have is a white front and nobody can see if it is gold or slate. Well, and tell me about the "hon" cases for the 5C. Summer intern project gone wrong!!!!

I agree on the not liking the white front. I love the gold but not sure I want the white glass. If only they made the gold with black glass too...

I was disappointed they discontinued the black/slate.

I use a black case on my iPhone 5, but I will frequently take it off. Like if I am at home, I'll take my case off for awhile.

I'll probably end up getting the space grey. But I wished they had 4 choices. White/silver white/gold black/slate black/space grey.

If I get the iPhone 5S in Space Grey it would be the first time I would put a case like the Spigen Slim Armor. I don't like the silver edge on it and the case makes it look black again.

I'm not a huge fan of the space grey, but its not terrible. The slate was very nice and very stealthy looking but personally I would have preferred something with less of a blue tone to it. I supposed Apple addressed that with "Space Grey" but it would have been nicer if the grey they used was closer to black.

I'm sort of torn between white/silver and space grey. I like the white/silver iPhone and it matches iOS 7 very nicely but the front is my least favourite part. I like how on the black iPhone the screen and camera and everything just disappears when the phone is off. The white front doesn't look as sleek at that. I always have it in a case anyway so whatever color I get I suppose its only the front that matters.

I kinda wanted an all white one after seeing mockups of the all white 5c. So i wish they had lightened the silver aluminum on the 5S

Haha, agreed. I am no Raiders fan, I am a huge 49ers fan and that black and space gray iPhone 5S turned me off just for that reason. Probably gonna go with the white and gold and get the red leather case for it, but I always end up taking the cases off. :(

One change I would make, unless the pictures are playing tricks on me, is to keep the back completely black and ONLY change the edges around the device to the grey color. Feels more in-line with the 4/4S design but just updated and refreshing.

I agree that black is more appealing but...

If they had provided a black front with a solid black back I would pick it in a heartbeat. I dislike, with a passion the two-tone look on the back. The Silver two-tone is far more appealing to me. I think it is because the lighter portion of the back of the Space Grey is the larger portion, unlike the other two phones. It looks funny to me.
