I've noticed this is available on my phone. Has anyone noticed poorer battery life enabling this feature or any odd things happen when enabled?

Had it on for about a week on my 6s. No negative effects noticed. Apparently it also allows calls via 4g, so there is a poise effect on battery that its not having to drop down to 3g as much.

Thats what I read somewhere, not sure if its true. in all honesty not noticed any difference one way or the other. If you notice anything you can just disable in the menu on the phone and turn off wifi calling or opt out via my o2 to stop doing calls on 4g as well.

Might as well give it a go, probably better on than off, especially if you have sketchy signal

I've had this enabled for a while on EE and from my experience I've had no noticeable detrimental effects.

It's perfect for its main use case of enabling call functionality in areas where the mobile/cell phone reception is poor.

Adding my ‘no detrimental effects’ to this, and I’m on a PB iOS 11 SE.. it’s really changed my frustration of calls at home (where reception is poor)

I’d just got for it :)

I'm doing this on iPhone under phone settings.
Don’t forget to also enable it on your o2 account. It can take up to a day. If already enabled then awesome :)

If you have the My O2 app then just scroll on the home tab to device details and there’s a 4G and wifi calling option.

Right now, I only have WIFI available.. my Girlf has all options on her 7.

Think they enabled it from newer devices down gradually!

Thanks for the tip disco! Checked and that was enabled already!

I've not noticed anything bad so far.

If anyone has trouble after checking if it’s enabled on the site/My O2 then don’t forget you can reset your carrier settings to help trigger things along. (Settings > general > reset > reset network settings)

You might also get a small window where your service dies. If this happens, restart your phone and wait a few minutes before turning back on.

Good luck! I’m blown away by it so far, even just on normal 4G calls! Had my first non-breaking phone call for 40 minutes last night st home and couldn’t be happier.

WiFi Calling is working great for me, VoLTE was also working. Happy O2 have finally rolled this out at last.

I've noticed no change in battery at all which is pleasing. Well actually it may even be far greater!

Does this mean tho my calls will only go over data rather than using my minutes?

Wi-Fi Calling hasn't impacted upon my iPhone 7 Plus battery life either-and VoLTE is also welcome.

Just a shame o2's not enabled SMS over Wi-Fi (unlike EE and I believe Three).

iphone 6 is still missing.

Enjoying my iphone 6 wifi calls.

Apologies if I missed this but how did you get it working? About the only thing I've missed since moving from EE and I see it's not listed for the 6 yet.
