iPod touch wifi working but no signal bars show

I am connected to wifi, get online yes, but it shows no signal bars next to ipod word top left of screen like it used to, letting me know i was connected. I turned unit off, and back on still nothing shows

I have the same thing happening I have tried to re-boot it and even tried to reboot my 1st gen itouch while sync'ing with my Mac... it worked once, but ever since 3.1.2 the touch seems to be running slower... along with not showing the Wifi signal...

Since updating from 2.2.1 to 3.1.2 I've noticed a decrease in wi-fi connection strength. I had read about this issue since 3.0 came out so it's disappointing that it's still around.

Sometimes, I'll restart and notice I have more bars but then it drops down again almost immediately. And this will happen when I'm right next to my AirPort.
