Wii corrupting Gamecube Memory cards?

So I go to play Mario Party 7 the other day with the gf and low and behold "Corrupted Save Found, Recover?". Fortunately MP7 was able to recover my game with 300 pts... anyway the next day I went to play some Paper Mario 1000 year door, aaaaannnnd Same thing. However, PM does not have a Recover Memory feature. #@!()U$()@UE()JH)U(#@()*!_#*!@#@!*#

Anyhoo, It tells me I need to erase my saved memory. I haven't done that yet (a little hope is left in me that it will fix itself...)

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? I'm using a 1019 block official Nintento card.

That is a bit odd, I don't know what could be causing it but I've got the same memory card. Are you suuuuure its official? I've bought Sony memory cards for my PSP in the past and they've all been very good looking fakes.

Official, bought from Wal-Mart in a sealed nintendo package.
