iPhone X Will Best Buy have any iPhone XS/XS Max in store for purchase on Friday, outside of preorders?

I am curious if anyone knows if Best Buy will have any iPhone XS/XS Max on launch day in store for customers that didn’t preorder? I am not sure how much stock Best Buy gets, and if they have seperate units shipped to store for preorders.

I upgraded to the X a few days ago because of the $100 off, but I am thinking of returning it and getting the XS since I am still within 14 day window.
 
Call them, however from past experiences their customer support knows very little.
 
In my life i only get it walk in 1 times on 6 model , remember that was after 1 day launch day all store sold out and i try bestbuy however 1 available , most of the time they keep for preorder pick up , very few chance ya,

Why don’t you call best buy and ask them?
 
Called and they couldnt tell me much at all other than they don’t know and it depends on preorders. The website still says you can get it on the 21st for pickup, so idk. I might get there an hour early and give it a shot.
 
Just remember from last year, they are not selling them full priced....only on carrier plans. The only way around it is to put a down payment on one and pay it off thru your carrier.

They are selling them at full retail price. They’re on the website.

Because I upgraded last week to the X. And would have to return it to be eligible for upgrade and preorder again. But I went to Best Buy and what they did is “added a line” to my AT&T account, but it doesn’t actually add the line until activated, but guarantees me a phone. And when I go to pick it up, they will cancel it and then just return my X and upgrade me to the XS. Got the email with a estimate pickup day of 09/21. Hopes it goes smooth
 
I never understood why anybody would ever buy let alone preorder from Best Buy. I think it was only 1 year where they actually got phones on day 1

They are available on release day, and you get money back from all the points you get.
 
It seems a lot of people have issues with BB and preorders. I have a pickup date of 09/21. I am hoping it all goes smooth and I have never had issues with BB in general in the past. Has anyone had good experieneces with preorders in the past?

Pre-order and walk-in have both worked for me in the past, with both Best Buy and Verizon. Last year I ordered from the Apple Store for the first time, and that was my first negative experience. Store didn’t come up for 10 mins, I ended up getting that waitlist crap, and a later date... Eventually just ended up cancelling the order, and got my X from Verizon first thing in the morning.
 
Best buy in my area still have all 3 models of the plus available for pre order and pickup on the 21st
 
I worked at Best Buy for 3 years. So I can tell you from experience that we never know what we’re getting until the day before of the release (after we close the store). We would usually stay late the Thursday before the release day to get all the pre-orders ready and then whatever was leftover we would use for walk-in clients. You can call and ask, but you may get a clueless or new associate who will say “Yeah, We’ll have a bunch” even though they have no clue. While I worked there, even for people who pre-ordered we were supposed to tell them we do not guarantee that their phones will be delivered on the release date. We would always have upset clients because they were told that they would receive them on that day. Thankfully I never had an issue with my clients because I was very upfront with them about the odds of getting them. I had a client one time that pre-ordered and he had to wait almost an extra week to receive his phone. That being said, because this is an S version release. The odds of them having them in stock for walk-in clients is a little bit higher because not everyone is trying to get them, but it changes based on the location.
 
It literally depends on how many in-store pre-orders they have. Why just pre-order it online from them and do an in-store pick up?
 
BB has never been known for their customer service. It's known as "Amazon's Showroom" for a reason.

Yeah well let me click on the Best Buy folder on my Mac that pulls up your local Best Buy’s inventory and shows how many phones will be for sale on the floor.

Call the darn store and find out!

I already did if you would of read the posts. They give you some BS no help answer. But I preordered now and have a pickup date of 09/21. Just didn’t know if anyone knew based off previous years, etc as I have never preordered through BB before. But thanks for the smart response wise guy.
