    Hi all,

With the soon-to-be release of iOS6 and Mountain Lion, do you think we will see in the introduction of true cloud storage within iCloud?

I currently use Dropbox for cloud storage of all my photos and media, but will iCloud be a replacement for such a service in the coming months? If so, I'm assuming it would be controlled through iPhoto and sync albums.

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks
    Jules

I'm thinking that iCloud will eventually host video and photo content.

No Apple cloud service will ever be as simple to use as DropBox.

Incorrect. It is (and will be) more simple.

Not sure what isn't simple about taking a photo on my iPhone and having it in iPhoto on the desktop when I sit down without having to do anything.

I agree, Dropbox is so easy to use. The best (not the cheapest) to use of all the Cloud offerings.

How does it work? I can't even create a new album in iOS iPhoto.

Select the photos you want to share and hit the share (arrow) button, choose Journal. Go into the Journals from the buttons at the bottom of the screen, into the Journal you want then hit the Share button again - one of the choices to share to is iCloud.

I don't think so. I think they're trying to cut down on the mess that MobileMe was. The share feature is great, but I think that's as far as it's going to go.
