Will the Superdrive need an external power supply?

I purchased this Slim SATA to USB adapter to hook it up to my Superdrive that I will be removing from my late 2008 Unibody MacbookPro.

The description says that the power is supplied through USB, but it also provides input for an extra 5 Volts DC power if the burner requires it.

Does anyone know if I will require the extra 5 Volts to burn CD/DVDs on the internal Superdrive?

    Thanks.

If anything, the superdrive should be able to be powered by USB, but no guarantees from me.

If the Superdrive inside the MacBook Pros are the same as or similar to the external one that Apple is selling here (minus the external enclosure), then I guess it won't need an external power supply. I hope that's the case.
