You must be forgetting the original AirPods we’re released right before Christmas in 2016. And they were the hottest gift instantly
Sure, they were released in December - but they were announced in September. Meaning consumers had time to build up demand and put them on their Xmas lists and so on. Surprising people with a new product after Black Friday would be a dumb retail move, period... a lot of the holiday money's already been spent and a new release would be a slow fizzle.

BRING IT ON!!!

I had Bose QC15 and and then Beats Studio 3 and have been waiting waiting waiting for Apple’s own offering.

please be tomorrow!

Maybe it's just an updated iPod touch with an A12 chip. Good for winter meaning good for gifting to kids.

That’s the same thing everyone said when they saw the AirPods dangling out of people’s ears for the first time.

Yeah, people will never learn. I don’t know how many times I have read something like this about an Apple product that is considered a design classic today, has been copied by competitors a dozen times ... You always have to see Apple products yourself. And they often come up with a design that is unique, recognizable and simple.

A lot of their designs use the “app icon” shape (Watch, Mac mini, HomePod ...). The earmuffs here have a similar shape.

And people seem to have forgotten that this mock-up is the cleared up version of a bad photo that allegedly showed the real thing. So very possible one of the rumored two models will look at least similar to this.

I didn't say that and regardless, it's not the same.

It's more like we saw mockups of iPhone's three cameras system and everyone went "EWW". Now we have a three camera system and everyone is fine.

We will find out tomorrow, but was hoping for a new Apple TV as I use that a lot and needed a new one. Was crossing my fingers a A12Z would bring actual 4K60 YouTube similar to current A12 iOS devices. Probably a last intel Mac update before completing moving to Apple Silicon next year and 2022. Will reliable leakers saying no to Apple TV and AirPods Studio has me lukewarm and low expectations.

I'd be excited is new Apple TV, M1X 16" MacBook Pro or AirPods Studio. But I doubt any of those are coming.
If it was an Apple TV, it probably would’ve been announced at the same event where they had the whole house set up for the HomePod Mini. It would’ve been so simple for Apple to sneak in a tiny Apple TV update.
as it stands, I think the next Apple TV will have an A14X chip, especially if they’re trying to aim at the gaming market with Apple arcade. Using a processor from over 2 years ago wouldn’t exactly be the smartest, most future proof decision.
If there was an M1X MBP, it would’ve been announced at the event that was literally less than a month ago, where the original M1 was announced.
Personally, I think it’s either AirTags, which are pretty self-explanatory and don’t really need any fancy introduction, or a new Intel 16 inch MacBook Pro update, which wouldn’t have gotten an event in the first place.
Then I think will have an event in March for the AirPods Studio, iPad Pro and Mini with Mini LED, a new Apple TV, and some other things.

I feel like such a fanboy, but I know for a fact that I will buy these on launch. If they announce a new iPad Pro I’ll buy that too. Whoops!

Last week, MacRumors shared details on an Apple internal memo informing Apple Authorized Service Providers about potential AppleCare-related changes planned for Tuesday, December 8, which hints at a new product release on that day.

A mockup of what the AirPods Studio headphones might look like

Since then, there's been speculation about what product Apple could be announcing, and today, there are hints that Apple could perhaps be planning to unveil the long-awaited over-ear high-end "AirPods Studio" headphones.

The AppleTrack website claims to have "exclusive" information from "multiple sources familiar with the matter" that Apple will be launching the AirPods Studio tomorrow morning. AppleTrack doesn't have an established track record for rumors as of yet and it is not clear if the information is accurate.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman today also reminded users about an October article he wrote that said "Apple is still planning to announce high-end, noise-canceling over-ear headphones," which perhaps suggests an upcoming launch. Leaker L0vetodream said earlier in November that Apple is planning to launch an unspecified "Christmas surprise" that's "good for winter" in December, but he did not clarify what product he was talking about.

An icon found in the iOS 14.3 beta features a design that resembles how the AirPods Studio headphones have been described, and that's also perhaps a hint that Apple is gearing up for a launch. There's still no clear evidence that AirPods Studio are coming before the end of the year, however, and Apple could also hold them until 2021.

Rumors suggested Apple would release the AirPods Studio earlier in the year, but the fall 2020 production date was allegedly pushed back because of problems with the headband, which some testers found to be too tight.

It's possible that Apple has been able to overcome the issues that delayed the launch of the AirPods Studio, and the headphones could be ready for release. The AirPods Studio are expected to feature Active Noise Cancellation functionality, removable ear cups, a retro-style design, and more, with details available in our AirPods Studio roundup.

Wow those look super fancy. I would want to buy, assuming it's not way overpriced. I'm hoping for a corded version though. Don't trust bluetooth in my ear just yet, even though they say it's safe

If they are good for winter I assume that would mean bad for working out, or the module ear cups.

Well this stopped me from removing the plastic fromy beat by dre studios 3 that I received today. Looks like they getting returned tomorrow

Everything is even faster paced now than it was 4 years ago. They could easily build up supply. Announce tomorrow and ship later this week for delivery next week. They do it every year with millions of iPhones.

doesn't make sense to announce airpods studio tomorrow - if they follow the pattern of pre-order on friday & availability the following friday, it doesn't leave much time to get it for Christmas (which is what I assume they'd want to release now for)

Apple has a history of announcing or revealing new products on Tuesdays with a release later on in the week on Friday....this could follow the same trend.

In other news, I am excited to get these. When I tried out the Spatial Audio feature on Apple TV+ with my AirPods Pro, I was blown away....seriously, the feature is like voodoo magic, it doesn't even feel like you are wearing any earbuds or headphones at all. The sound is so natural and lifelike and realistic sounding.

These headphones, because they surround your entire, will be even better at Spatial Audio, I think, and are a must for anyone looking into getting totally immersed in their content.

Apple has always been known for great audio and the AirPods Pro proves it and I'm sure these Studio headphones will be the same.

Day 1 purchase for me....

My moneys on Apple TV. AirPod studio would require announcement before ever just going live. A simple “here it is” isn’t Apple

an updated Apple TV with little more then a soc update, that’s a “here it is” apple announcement.
AirPods Pro was a "here it is" apple announcement, so it's hard to say. I'm hoping it is the Studio, but I agree - my money is on the ATV.

I'll only upgrade if there is a new remote though. Current one runs just fine.

EDIT: Proser and Gurman don't think there will be an ATV release this year (delayed until March). I hope it's studio and tag/

Gurman has a really good track record and he said in a tweet tonight that Apple TV was delayed until 2021 so looking more and more likely it’s not that.
Ughhhhhh I really wanted it to be an updated Apple TV. It is so overdue, and probably least deserving of any actual 'event' time since it's probably just a spec bump. The headphones on the other hand obviously deserve a lot more explanation about design and function; I'd be rather disappointed to see these come out via press release.
