Rudy Giuliani Defends Michael Cohen’s Hush Money Payments: ‘Nobody Got Killed’

Rudy Giuliani this week offered a new defense of hush money payments that President Donald Trump’s former fixer Michael Cohen made on his behalf.

“Nobody got killed, nobody got robbed … This was not a big crime,” Giuliani told The Daily Beast. “I think in two weeks they’ll start with parking tickets that haven’t been paid.

Satire is a dying industry when reality is so absurd. From just last week:

Giuliani is clearly past his prime at this point in his life - it's astonishing but he actually announced that his client committed a crime. And this was done all the while Trump is tweeting and going on Fox arguing that no law was broken. What a circus. And of course when he was district attorney, Giuliani didn't have such a lenient view of crime.

This really is an astonishing statement. As mayor, Guliani championed the “broken windows” theory of policing, which basically called for zero tolerance on even the pettiest of crimes. For him to now argue that we should ignore potential felonies committed by Trump is just ridiculous. I work closely with some folks at Bracewell (formerly Bracewell & Giuliani) and they cannot believe how far Giuliani has fallen.

Giuliani has always been a lying, dirtball POS. No wonder he's DJT's lawyer.

He's not arguing we should ignore potential felonies. He's arguing that the acts committed are not felonies.

Pity. This man once knew the law and fought against corrupt crime families. Now he is working for one and trying to defend them by forgetting everything he once knew about the law.

The Trump effect, people who get close to Trump and this admin seem to lose basic common sense and morality.

He’s actually doing both, arguing that what Trump did wasn’t a crime and that Cohen was charged with only petty crimes that no one should care about. This is what he has previously said about the charges against Manafort: “We’re talking about white-collar crime. Nobody’s dying, nobody’s being abused, nobody’s being sexually assaulted.”

Remember when this guy was the hero for prosecuting the mob? He has either lost his soul or someone bought it. And the arguments he has been making, sound like a Trump wannabe who took a stupid pull.
