Can't get enough of these...
Link (note the section title in the URL )
It reminds me of this.
But what was more interesting to me was that I got a little movie of a woman selling window treatments that wasn't a pop-up and wasn't blocked by PithHelmet. Sort of cool, actually. Annoying, but cool.
This whole Virgin Mary business is really getting clichéd. Maybe if the spot morphed into something that resembled Madonna (the other one) or JonBenet would I become interested.
Wanna see Jagger? Hmmmm?
That was kind of cool. Would of been better if she was nekked.
I'm not seeing the Mary image on the shell. Poor turtle. Just set the things free why don't cha (where they are native of course).
Ibet you're being sarcastic
That really looks more like Darth Vader than Mary to me.
I was just going to say the exact same thing.
Luuuuuuuuke! I am your turtle!
*breathes heavily* Turtle Luke, I am your father.
Seriously, everyone sees Virgin Mary in everything.
How does anyone know what she actually looks like? '
Pretty close! The dialogue in my head was
Mary: Jesus, I am your mother.
Call me crazy but if you look real close, you can see the VM. Pic must have been shot in a cold room because her nipples are hard.
Well, that turtle pattern sure doesn´t look like an untouched entrance to me
I'm not seeing it at all.
Nothing personal against Christians, I just am so sick and tired of the zany ones who see iconic symbols in everything from potato chips to barn doors.
There's a term for the human mind's predilection for turning vague images into recognizable ones. It's how we see cloud formations that look like familiar objects, for example. I don't remember the scientific term for this, unfortunately, but apparently these people have never even heard of the concept, let alone the terminology.
So in short:
You know, I don't begrudge people seeing these things. Heck, if it makes them feel better, then that's fantastic. But I do wonder why the media makes such a big deal of it at times.
Especially "Virgin Mary" sightings, since the "outline" of the VM is so general it's easy to see it in so many places.
In Palm harbor, FL the catholic church (?) bought an entire officebuilding for millions of dollars after Virgin Mary was "spotted" in the glasscovered faced. It was a big hoopla about it in the media at the time. People came from all over the world to see Virgin Mary...
I can post some pics later tonight if you are interested.
no pun intended
The Virgin Mary house
The Virgin Mary was apparently spotted right behind the crucifix.
How to make a killing...
The guy that owned the building made a fortune when he sold the building to the church. The foundation still owes one million dollars on the house...
That was on 19 and Drew Street, right down the street from where I go to school. It was a water stain left on the reflective glass windows after a palm tree was removed. I believe someone threw a brick through it or something a little while back and it's no longer there.
EDIT: Ahh yes, I just saw the pics. It was on the right side of the crucifix, you can only see the bottom half that's left. Note the other similar water stains all around the building...
yupp, right at Drew and US 19, next to Best Buy. I wonder if there is a hidden message in that...
At first I thought that it was the Virgin Mary on the turtle's shell, but I agree, it definitely looks like Darth Vader.
Looks like a turtle shell
Or is this one of those magic eye things where I need to stare at it out of focus until the Virgin Mary becomes visible. Wait wait...oh yeah I see it now. It does look like Darth Vader. Evil in a half shell.
