“Some are calling it less American, Dion, because, well, her outfit isn’t red, white, and blue, and, in order to appeal for foreign audiences, very little reference to America at all,” said the “Your World With Neil Cavuto” host.

'It's cool to hate America these days': Fox News panel upset Wonder Woman isn't American enough

Look who is all sensitive and PC now?

Maybe should point out Superman is an illegal alien (more ways than one), very likely a with forged birth certificate. Even Obama cant claim that kind of forgery.

    EDIT:
One complaint: Not enough Red, White and Blue on the new WW costume.

Hummm. very little white on Linda Carter WW, not that I am noticing.

The character isn't the female version of Captain America. It's fine.

Fox gets more Faux every day.

Really.......they complaining a fictional cartoon character in a grade D movie with zero plot, zero acting, is not American enough.

May have to change my avi picture to double palm face.

Yup, especially since Wonder Woman isn't actually American. Unlike Supes, she's an artificially created being made by Greco/Roman 'pagan' gods. But hey, let's complain how she isn't American enough because of her outfit.

Also her outfit hasn't been strictly red, white, & blue for a few years.

    Maybe Obama is Superman??

But Fox aren't completely wrong... it seems to be cool to hate America these days.

Except none of this equates to hating America.

Let them be upset. Wonder Woman was originally marketed to a US audience. Now it's being marketed to an international audience. Without doing research, was the original red, white, and blue, with white stars portrayal of Wonder Woman based on her tribe or being an American hero?

Edit: Some research post 24 that shows the costume history but does not answer the question, I'll stick with a marketing decision. :)

Edit: I did not realize until I researched that Winder Woman was the first feminist hero. :) See post 39.

Proves he is not true conservative right wingnut. They would be in bathroom stall whispering to stall mate next to them. (Think of self righteous congressmen or preachers.)

wait. what is going on? Wonder Woman is from Themyscira. Also, there's this thread - but none about this film being banned in Syria because Gal Gadot is Israeli...ok

Maybe thats why some in the US hate the French - we take ownership of the colors Red, White and Blue. Although Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Cuba, and Norway may have a word to say...

That maybe because the banning is something many can't relate to, including some in Lebanon.

    https://www.theguardian.com/film/2017/may/31/wonder-woman-lebanon-ban-gal-gadot-israel

Many in Lebanon weren't happy about her very pro - zionist stance, so they wanted the boycott.

well thanks. I was not commenting on the pros-and-cons of that issue, just the fact that it was ignored and instead there is commentary about her outfit.

    She isnt?
Only difference I find is she grew into superpower, while CA needed a boost of, Vita-something.

I liked the movie, had a couple of directing screwups, but a solid movie
    (Liked Hunger Games Katnis better)

No she isn't. She was made analogous to Captain America, to maintain her relevance when she was an afterthought heroine. When newer creators decided bring her up to par with Superman & Batman, that sort of was played down.

Read up on some of her inspiration from her creator and you'll really see she has absolutely nothing similar to Captain America. Unless you think Cap & America itself is big into submission & bondage.
