Just wanted to post that I'm going to be a father... :D

We found out Wednesday that the wife is pregnant.

Here comes a heck of a lot more responsibility. I'm a little nervous, but I think we are ready.

Congrats, mate! I gather this is your first then?
Yup... it's our first. We've been married 3.5 years and just started trying to have our first. Guess it worked... :p

Congratulations on this momentous occasion. Are you going to take a Lamaze Class? It is a great feeling of responsibility. Just remember that God gives us nor more than we can handle. I'm sure that you will do just fine. It's something that brings great joy. How far along and what is the due date?

Hmm... I'm not so sure about the Lamaze class. We'll see.

Today she hit 7 weeks (first heartbeat). She's due in the beginning of November.

Congrats!

My first is just 15 months now and its great. You've got a lot to do in the next several months, just make sure you get lots of sleep, cause the first couple months or more after the babies home won't give you much time to sleep.

Also, go out and see as many movies as you can - you won't be doing that as much afterwards.

I hope your wife has a pleasant and uneventful pregnancy and you have a healthy baby.

D

Yay! I love kids. Have you set up a Macrumors account for the kid yet? It's always good to get in early - just to make sure you get the name you want! :p ;)

back in NYC!
Get fancy with the name - give it an epithet!

Ethel 'the Destroyer'
Zachary, 'Watermelon of the Underwold'

Every child deserves to have an official epithet to go along with their name. It's only fair :D.

@Singing Storm: Actually, I'm a guy and I'd want my first child to be a girl. Maybe I'm weird.

I'd want a girl, then a boy 2nd, then either a boy or girl if I had 3 kids.

Okay, first thing is first --- I need to get into a real relationship. I just started to date someone absolutely incredible, so here's hoping that in 7 years time....... ;)

(We've only been on one date so far, so it just be hormones talking  )

We sort of have a language barrier (english is FAR frm her first language), but if I speak clearly, it should be fine. :)

Hmm... Tiger... I had mentioned Apple or Macintosh... She didn't go for it.

I'm actually torn between a girl and a boy. I've been told that girls actually befriend their father more that boys at a young age. When the kids get older it reverses... So, I'm not sure.

The biggest most rewarding challenge of your life!

Awesome, I hope all goes well! Start accumulating diapers now. If you think you are ready, that is an important start, just don't lull yourself in thinking that!

Let us know if it is a blue, pink, or yellow nursery ;) .

well mines a daddy's boy, and he just turned two. it is a blast, but can be rough. they get sick a lot, and they are also very tempermental. I would suggest reading the followin: what to expect when you are expecting, and one called the first year and also one called the toddler years. oh yeah and dr. brown's bottles are the bomb.
