Lets imagine that some events happen that escalated between these two factions and war is declared months from now.

What would happen and what would be the outcome.

    Discuss...:)

This country would erupt in revolution, or civil war. There is no way people would support a war with Europe. They are our friends and allies for crissake. The only way this would happen is if McCain was elected and he went completely over the edge. Personally, I find the question absurd.

    Europe would win. :D

No, seriously I can't see this happening. Even if the US is stupid enough as a nation to vote in the republicans again.

The question is not "Would USA and EU ever go to war?"

Besides, you never can predict the future. ;)

So put on your military/political/sociological caps and make some predictions!

We are quite safe here in the EU because the USA doesn't actually know where it is.

On a serious note though this question is just ridiculous. Do you not have anything better to do?

Edit - that wouldn't actually be a World War either would it, seeing as most of the world wouldn't be playing...

US Civil War II: Red vs. Blue!

    A far more interesting question.

    Edit: What a silly thread…

Couldn't you say the same about the previous world wars? I don't believe they involved every country in the world.

There were indeed a fair few countries involved in WW2.

But if the definition being applied to 'World' is the same as that for the Baseball World Series then I suppose that the proposed WWIII includes more than the world...

While it is a stupid question, no countries are on the same team. Each country is self-preserving. Foreign policy cares little for ideals.

Besides, I'd like to see anyone try to invade Glasgow. Good luck with that.

    DING DING DING DING DING

THE MYSTERY WORD HAS BEEN SPOKEN!!!

    :p

I doubt this would ever happen, the EU is too large of a force for america to contend with, unless we had some large influx of oil, I doubt america would ever go to war with us...

[Faux antipedian / Scottish accent] "Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FINE FRENCH CHEESES!" [/Faux antipedian / Scottish accent]

Russia and China would join the EU and nuclear bombs would rain from the sky across the planet. Most of the world would be wiped out but the USA would lose.

Far to much hubris from the US about how mighty they are. A declining empire with the tactical savy of a school child playing battleships.
