Worst oil spill in human history, is still spewing oil.

In 2004 Hurricane Ivan ripped a small platform from the its foundation.
Ever since then the oil has been pouring out at an estimated 500 barrels per day (give or take 250).

Taylor Energy (the company) has done everything it can not to locate and cap the leak.

Why a company will not cap a productive well and make money on the oil?
(probably consider too expensive, so let it leak. Well, it IS very expensive, hard to find, and limited help to repair the damage a storm did.)

(see, something not #45 related. OH dammit!! I mentioned #45. Drat)

The EPA is captured by industry regardless of the party in power.

This time it seems the issue is mired in several smaller agencies and loopholes in law.

As a former Coastian I certainly care. But the government has shown zero interest in forcing these asshats to fix their problem. Lots of people on the Gulf Coast have spoken out about it and no-one listens. The company doesn't give a rip. The EPA couldn't care less. Until an administration that gives a damn comes along and forces them to fix it we're stuck in limbo.

I care. It seems like the EPA’s authority is not clearly defined. If it is, I think they should have not only the authority but the duty to act whenever there is a violation.
