Would the next version of OS X still contain the features of OS X 10.9?

Would things like RAM compression continue to live on in newer versions of OSX or would Apple remove them?

Memory compression was just added to OS X, it's not going anywhere.

Although there have been a few instances of removing features from one OS X version to the next, the general rule is to keep newly introduced technologies and add to them in subsequent releases. I doubt you'll see RAM compression removed in future releases, unless it's replaced by whatever the "next step" in RAM management turns out to be.
