If the new iPhone (iPhone 6th generation) had these:

    - iOS 6 (Siri, Maps, FaceTime, etc.)
    - Improved, Thinner design (7.6 mm, 18% thinner)
    - 4-inch Retina display (640 x 1136 resolution)
    - Dual-core A5X chip (1 GHz CPU & 1 GB DRAM)
    - 4G LTE (AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint)
    - FaceTime HD (1.3 MP FaceTime camera)
    - Group Chat (FaceTime between four iOS devices or Macs)
    - Better speakers
    - Smaller dock
    - nanoSIM
    - Enhanced Bluetooth 4.0 Sharing
    - Enhanced Airplay
    - Panorama mode for Camera
    - Better battery compared to iPhone 4S

Think these are the most reasonable features.

No, because those are just the known rumors.
In addition to those, I am expecting:
    Lytro like camera capabilities.
    Even longer lasting battery.
    Waterproofed hardware.
iOS 6 native and easy way to toggle Bluetooth ON/OFF.
iTunes Match and iCloud that works faster.
Free Apple server service to connect to my Macs, then evolving to the future dream of an iCloud service = OS X online machine 1TB.

Nothing here really shouts "here's the next new iPhone!" to me.

I think all that is quite realistic. It's going to be something very close to that. The "smaller dock" will be USB 3, and hopefully MagSafe as well. The back camera will almost certainly get an upgrade.

What would "enhanced AirPlay" consist of?

I don't think magsafe is possible with a device as light in weight as the iPhone. Or at least not practical in real life use.

There's nothing inspiring about these [realistic] specs and details.

Apple makes the new iPhone WATERPROOF and it will sell 50 Million easily. LOL

Seriously, I would be very happy if this was the new iPhone. *I can't remember who posted it here.

    4.3"+ Retina Display
    2GB RAM
    1.5GHz Dual Core A5X
    LTE
$650 for 32GB in White. I never cared for Front & Back Cameras so they can eliminate if it means keeping the price down.

The MOST important, 10 hours of Battery Life.

This is the issue. People's expectations are set too high.

your expecting water proofed hardware? Where do people get these expectations? They come out of nowhere then on the 12th there will be an onslaught of disappointed threads because these unrealistic expectations dont get met.

I'm hoping for all the things the OP posted plus "maybe" NFC and wireless charging. but im hoping doesnt mean im expecting it to 100% happen.

No...if those are really the specs, I will keep my current iPhone 4 as an iPod and get one of the competing phones with more compelling features as my phone.

4.3 retina + 2gb ram is too high after 2 years of the 4 and 4S? Sounds to me like you are the perfect apple fanboy: a persons with expectations too low.

wtf do we need 2gb of ram on a phone? The 4s is smooth as silk with 512. competing android phones with 1gb+ of ram are not even a fraction as smooth. so why should apple bump the ram that much. and 4.3? your going to bitch about .3 of an inch on the phone?

You guys are nuts asking for all that stuff.
I just want an instant Star Trek transporter. You think that will kill my battery any faster than my 4S?

Tell me when the iPhone gets 2 gigs of ram, or finally catches up with NFC, LTE, larger screens.

Likewise, let's talk about Smart Stay, or Pop Out Play, or tilt to scroll, direct dialing via proximity sensor, wireless charging; most of these things put the 'smart' in smartphone. Far more inspiring than iOS 6's biggest feature so far, Maps and Navigation. Welcome to the party, iOS.

I'm not even that big of a fan of the GSIII, but I'm not afraid to admit when the competition is rising to the occasion.

    ----------

We now know that Apple actually pays very close attention to consumer feedback (thanks to the Apple vs. Samsung trials).

I've always said that if people aren't intellectually honest about Apple's shortcomings, Apple has no reason to change. Ultimately, this will hurt the consumer, whether he knows it or admits it or not. Example? I present to you the next gen iPhone* and iOS 6.

    *If the leaks are real.

    ----------

And yours is too low. Apple's trained you well.

In retrospect, if the phone has the longer same width display as we've been seeing, there's several advantages I'll enjoy.

    1) Put off by the display, I'll pass & save a few hundred bucks.
    2) I'll learn what it's like to use the same old iPhone for two years straight.
    3) The newness worn off, I won't be so careful with this 4S.
    4) One look at the elongated model makes me appreciate the 4S more.
    5) I'll recalibrate my expectations that Apple will likely recycle the long phone. Using the same 4.0" 16:9 next year as well.

Once I've let go of all expectations, a vanilla iPhone will suffice just fine.

    Easy Peasey :)

    Sure, for a typical fanboy.

Who gives a **** if it's 2gb or 1 gb an upgrade is needed oh and don't get me started on the screen size. Anyone who is happy and was happy with the 4 and 4S and now this taller screen has to be a typical fanboy apologist. Just like the people happy with no multitasking ( still not true even after all this time) and copy paste and every thing else that apple has been late to the proverbial party on over the years.

Bottom line is that apple has stopped being innovators and are just being complacent litigators.

Still hilarious that people like you guys will never see the bigger picture.

Yeah, if you're a spec fanatic. The iPhone runs smoother than most Android devices and it has a fraction of the RAM. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
